Scrutinize the list of documents and the procedure for submitting in advance
The list of documents for admission of foreign students is long, thus it’s preferable to familiarize yourself with it and start compiling them with a margin of time enough to prepare everything.
Send your documents in the first days of the submission of application
It takes long time to send documents by mail, so it’s better to send them in the very first days of the submission of application in order to avoid worrying whether they will arrive in time.
Get in touch with your friends in Moscow
It’s advisable to make friends and acquaintances in the city where you are going to enroll at the university: they can help both with passing your documents to the university and with finding a place to live in the future.
Make sure you can pay in currency
Sometimes it’s required to make a payment in dollars so you need to be sure you will be able to do it when the time comes; in Russian shops, malls, cafes, etc. prices are in rubles.
Learn the basic laws of Russia
It’s crucial to find out what you are allowed and not allowed to do before you come to the country, otherwise you may be penalized or arrested for certain actions.
